Find a court.
Get a run.

Hooper maps every outdoor hoop around you, lets players claim and vouch for the good ones, and turns “who’s playing Saturday?” into a real game with a real roster.

How it works

From pin to tip-off in three moves.

01

Spot a court

Open the map and every outdoor hoop near you is already on it. Three colours tell you what you’re walking into.

Blue — pulled from public map data. Nobody’s vouched for it yet.
Orange — verified by a player. Photos, ratings, real details.
Grey — there’s a gate. A school, a club, someone’s yard. Still playable, sometimes.
02

Claim it

Verify a court and it becomes yours to look after. Drop photos, tag the rims and nets, note the lights. Keep it honest for the next hooper who rolls up.

03

Run it back

Schedule a game, invite the players you follow, and see who’s actually in. Invites land in one inbox, a yes goes straight to your calendar, and the host marks who showed.

Level & Reliability

Two numbers. Neither one you can fake.

3.0
where everyone starts

Everyone starts at 3.0

No self-rating. After a game the players you ran with rate you against themselves. A “well above me” from a 6.0 pulls you up a lot further than the same tap from a 2.0. A few runs in, you settle at your real level.

100
until you flake

Turning up counts too

Reliability is separate from level, because missing a run doesn’t make you worse at basketball. It makes you worse to invite. Say you’re coming and show up, and it stays at 100.

Everything in the bag

Built for the people who actually show up.

01
Court tags that mean something
Size, hoops, surface, lights, access. Picked from a shared list so “double rims” means the same thing on every court.
02
Photos and ratings
Only the court’s admin and players who ran there recently can rate it. No drive-by reviews.
03
One inbox for invites
Every “you in?” lands in one place. Yes or no, and a yes drops straight into your calendar.
04
King of the Court
Show up to the most games at a court and the crown is yours. Until someone outworks you.
05
Follow real hoopers
Follow the players you like running with. Invite them in two taps next time.
06
Report, block, ban
Report a player, court or photo. Block anyone, both ways. Court admins can ban a player from their runs.

Your court’s already on the map.

Something broken, a court wrongly listed, or someone behaving badly? Email us and a person will read it.

We aim to reply within a few days. For reports about another player, a court or a photo, use the report button in the app instead; it reaches us with the context attached.

Safety

Hooper arranges games between people who may not know each other, on public courts. Play in daylight or a lit court where you can, tell someone where you are going, and use the report and block tools if anyone makes you uncomfortable. A court’s admin can ban a player from the games organised there.

You must be 16 or over to have a Hooper account.
